  • loved my old 1980 CJ7 w 4 speed. So much fun (and rust). Great video and loved the attention to detail. My 80 still had the Jeep stamp with the "e" centers fully stamped. I understand that Jeep always used the same stamp and in the early 80s, it started to wear and the "e" in the stamping became solid and lost the center indents. Any truth to that rumor?

Saw it for the first time in 2 years just a few weeks ago at Oceanside Beach, CA during a buddy’s wedding when it drove by just as the couple were exchanging vows. • Unbelievable Jeeps and the luv affair your company has with them is unmistakable. In 1883 I bought my first new vehicle and it was a 1983 Jeep CJ 7 Limited, Slate Metallic Blue with a 5 speed manual transmission coupled to a inline 6 cylinder 258 engine and It cost me $10, 950.50 which was a lot of money for me an Airman in the United States Air Force. I would love to have another one if you know of one available.

Growing up in these things next to the world's largest dealer having owned dozens and dozens and also doing nut & bolt restorations as well I see your Levi material on the 77 is not original nor is the placement of the tags. Did you use coach vinyl on the back and sides? Furthermore it's terribly disappointing when you guys add fuel injection 😬 And...... without a V8 with headers and pipes, it ain't no Jeep lol😉

  • I have a blue Jeep CJ7 Lorado I ordered. I took delivery in November of 1979. Yep, 41 years. I’ve tried to keep the body original. It has a factory hard top, spare tire carrier, original black with the gray stripe seats. I put Chevy 350 with an Advance adapter kit in 1993. It has just over 97000 miles on it and it has never been wrecked. I put a dana 44 rear differential in it after Katrina in 2005 because of issues with water and brake pads. Long story. Wish I could add a picture.

  • they are beautiful - luv the cj walkarounds , almost bought new cj7 around 1980, dont remember them being so expensive, bought new off show room floor 89 YJ for $12,300 Canadian (about $9000 USD today), it (then) had tilt + interm wipers , 1/2 doors, 258 6cyl 20 gallon tank, center console and AM only radio you couldn't reach or hear over 30mph, still have the jeep today and it can still pound the pavement to Rubicon trail or Moab "and" back (2000-2500 miles) - its me that needs a rebuild ;)

I now realize that I was changing an oil filter that rusted through and started leaking after 6 months on my Town Car and led a friend who is a mechanical novice through a brake job on a Chrysler minivan. Another informative and enjoyable video Dennis. You are the man. I think that you are the most knowledgeable Jeep guy out there.

    • He's a multi-millionaire with limited time and they said he gives you one take for these videos...if the camera man misses it, he just misses it. Dennis does this just for fun & his love of jeeps. I seriously doubt that he has any time in his day to read thousands of comments on his 10 minute video. I thought the internet & this channel were more Kelsey's wheelhouse, but haven't seen a peep from her lately. I know she went to college & all and I have no idea what major (car enthusiast?), but this stuff that Dennis is talking about is in his blood. I think you have to be born with a passion for it. The business will live on after he's gone, but there will never be another plethora of knowledge there like him again. My advice to anyone who loves Jeeps is to get over there & get some work done and try to catch Dennis there to pick his brain about yours.

  • Dennis is a unicorn in a world of slick car dealers. His knowledge and honesty are truly rare today. We have a small city Jeep/Dodge/Ram/Ford dealer that is very similar. Years ago we ordered the first PT Cruiser in the south central zone from them and actually got a discount from list. We were offered a large sum of money to give up the car but took delivery. Was a cool little car at the time. Nothing like it today with as much utility and cool looks. It needed more HP but ok for in town..
