  • Hey Dennis. I see you found another of Minnesota’s hidden treasures. First y’all scored that sweet Boss 9. Now this! I frequent the French Lake Auto Recyclers as it’s close to our lake house. Can’t overlook the Windy Hill salvage yard . Both are amazing. With this pandemic thing, I have time on my hands. If I can help you out in any way. I’d be more than happy to assist. Seeing that K-5 makes me wish I had my Frost White 86 Blazer with the factory forged aluminum wheel upgrade. For the longest time I was the only one around with those wheels. All others had Rally rims. I like yours easy better though with the Black and Silver. Could’ve used that motor too. My 305 only had 165 hp. Then I discovered Jeep’s! I have 2 now and have hade a half dozen of them. I know you’re a wrangler kind of man. Don’t judge too harshly as I really love my XJ’s!! So fun! Thanks for tolerating my rambling on. I’m heading to the cabin in a minute. Be going through Annandale in about90 minutes. Have a great day!

Was loaded and my wife loved it except for the color ( it was butterscotch) Sand blasted it a few years later and painted it white. It has aluminum mags and just shone!!!!! 8 years later I sold it for what I had in it and bought a van ( darn) Should have parked it out back. • It is beautiful. I owned a old 80s Blazer back in the day and it was a fun vehicle. It had the classic 350 V8 in it but those old 350's had no pep whatsoever. Also, by 100,000 miles that truck nickel and dimed me to death. Sold it at about 120,000. They are cool to look at but they just were not built well.

Unlike this truck, I drove the hell out of mine, everywhere from ski trips to Colorado, Wyoming, Michigan, from Cincy , to spring breaks in Florida. Put over 200k miles on it with 1 rebuild.. A lot of fun. Nice vid !

  • First off. I owned a 78' K5 back in 1990 ( standard silver ). Second...90% of painters out there WILL screw up on a silver blend / why? as you stated -- way to many variance's in paint chip cards / age of existing paint / prior repaint / differences in formulas from many different paint manufacturers / there was no such thing as BC/CC in 1978 / todays painters will have nothing to do with single stage paint. Here's your homework assignment..start paying attention to silver cars and I will GUARANTEE you see paint mismatches out there. Even IF they nailed the base color they will inevitably lose the match in how they applied the clearcoat ( ** it has to be "stepped out" carefully ) if not -- the missmatch will slap you upside the head.
